Obituary of John Miguel Lohmiller

     John Miguel Lohmiller, 88, of Placerville, California, passed away peacefully on November 23rd, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family. He was born on May 23rd, 1934, in Placerville, CA, to George and Catherine (Erecart) Lohmiller.

     John was a lifelong Catholic and a member of the Operating Engineers Union from high school until his passing. He started working at the Natomas Dredging Company as an Oiler while attending Folsom High School, then joined the Operating engineers Union where he was a Crane Operator/Oiler until his injury on the job at 35 years old, where he became disabled with injury to his right arm. John then started working with his wife Ruth as a mail carrier in 1989, his route was from Placerville, CA, to the Sierra Ski Ranch, 6 days a week until he retired in 2015.

     John loved to go hunting and fishing with his wife Ruth, his son John Jr., his grandsons, and of course his nephew, David Bibby. He enjoyed it so much it was all he wanted to do after his retirement. If anyone mentioned going hunting or fishing, he was ready to go, with all family and friends anytime, any day. John loved to watch his son race his stock car at the Hangtown track in Placerville and loved to watch his grandkids ride the dirt bikes on the property, as well as watching Jonathan race his dirt bike.

     John is survived by Ruth C. Lohmiller, his loving wife of 67 years and 5 months, his children, Terry (Teri), Carol, Christina, and John Jr., grandsons, Michael, Joseph, Jason, and Jonathan, granddaughters, Shelli and Keri. Great-grandsons, Kristopher, Connor, Ryder, Jack, and Barrett, great-granddaughters, Kaylie, Jolie, Emma, and Asa, and great-great-grandsons, Soren and Karter, and many nephews and nieces who knew and loved dad as well.

     He was preceded in death by his beloved nephew David Bibby of Placerville, CA.

     John was dearly loved by all who knew him, he would help anyone at any time or any place he was a great person and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in Peace now dear sweet Dad, may be gone, but not forgotten
