Obituary of Mary Ann Wheeler

Mary was born on June 28, 1938 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She has lived the past 18 years in the beautiful Somerset mountains, until her passing on July 5, 2017. She is survived by her three sons: Richard, Mark & John, as well as her life partner of 35 years, James Galloway. She had many grandchildren that she carried close to her heart including: Brooke, Brandon, Michael, Megan, Damon, Justin, Zach, Sierra, Ritchie, Amber, Mary Andrea & Anthony. Mary was a woman with a big heart. She was a woman who displayed great loyalty & was a natural giver & nurturer. She always had time for others & took pride in taking care of her family. Mary was also a devoted animal lover. At a time she was known to have a mini farm at her home that included: chickens, goats & her beloved dog T-Bone. One of Mary's many passions was cooking. You could always count on finding her in the kitchen where she cooked from the heart. She enjoyed hosting for her family during the holidays. Fresh baked bread was a common treat when you came to Mary's home & she always seemed to have your favorites whipped up when you were over for a visit. Not only was Mary an excellent cook but she was also a gifted seamstress. Quilting was her expertise. She hand crafted hundreds of quilts over time and every one contained a piece of her heart & soul. She had an eye when it came to picking out the colors & patterns in the fabrics. Each one was uniquely beautiful. It was an honor to receive a quilt of Mary's. At one point each family member has had a quilt of their own on their bed in their home. Mary was one to give from the heart. Mary you will never be forgotten & will forever be held in the deepest part of our hearts. You were one of a kind and it was an honor to have been loved by you. Until we meet again rest in peace sweet Mary Ann.
