Angelo Battaglia

July 21, 1922 – June 24, 2022

 

            Angelo “Batt” was born in Yonkers, New York, son of Guiseppi “Joseph” and Rosini “Rose” (Bucchieri) Battaglia. He was a WWI veteran, piloting B-17s and B-29s. He was a long-time resident of Placerville and active in the community. He died at home after a short illness, at age 99, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 71 years, Mary Jane (Dean) Battaglia, and his sisters, Geraldine (Jean) Gervais and Carmella (Millie) Benone. He is survived by his daughters Bonnie, Barbara, and Beverly and his granddaughter Amanda; eight nieces and nephews and several grand and great nieces and nephews. Graveside services were private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Contact the family for more information.
